The building management system is designed to control the mechanical and electrical systems of a facility, as well as the efficient distribution of energy. It runs through the building like the nerves run through the human body. The building management system constitutes as little as 2 to 5 per cent of the total implementation cost of a facility, but its role is of key importance.
The management system has a paramount role in managing the efficient operation of the building. The future operating costs – that can be estimated to be three quarters of the costs over the whole life cycle – basically depend on the efficiency of the building management system.
